Privacy Policy

Overview

BBQCast ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Data Collection

BBQCast does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data you enter (smoker profiles, cook logs, notification settings) is stored locally on your device only.

Location Data

BBQCast requests access to your device location solely to fetch local weather data from Open-Meteo. Your location coordinates are used only at the moment of the weather request and are never stored, logged, or transmitted to any server operated by us. Location data is sent directly to Open-Meteo's API to retrieve weather conditions for your area.

What We Don't Collect

Local Storage

The app stores your smoker profiles, cook log entries, settings, and notification preferences locally on your device using Hive (local database). This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all stored data.

In-App Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings.

Push Notifications

The app uses local notifications only (scheduled on your device) for daily smoke score alerts. No data is sent to any push notification server. You can enable or disable notifications in the app's settings.

Third-Party Services

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
