FretCast ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Data Collection

FretCast does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data you enter (instrument profiles, home profile settings, humidity history, notification preferences) is stored locally on your device only.

What We Don't Collect

• No names, email addresses, or account information
• No health or medical data
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No cookies or advertising identifiers

Location Data

FretCast requests your location solely to fetch local weather data from Open-Meteo, an open-source weather API. We do not store, log, or transmit your location data to any server. Location is used only at the moment of the weather request and is not retained. You may deny location permission and use manual city entry instead.

Local Storage

The app stores your instrument profiles, home profile settings, and humidity history records locally on your device using Hive (local database). This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all stored data.

In-App Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings.

Push Notifications

The app uses local notifications only (scheduled on your device) for daily risk alerts and rate-of-change warnings. No data is sent to any push notification server. You can enable or disable notifications in the app's settings.

Third-Party Services

• Open-Meteo: Used to fetch weather data (dew point, temperature, humidity). Open-Meteo is a free, open-source API. No personally identifiable information is shared. See open-meteo.com for their terms.
• RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. RevenueCat may collect anonymous transaction data as described in their privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is shared.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
