Overview

MileSpan ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Data Collection

MileSpan does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data you enter (bike specs, route settings, rider weight, range logs, notification preferences) is stored locally on your device only.

Location Data

MileSpan requests your location solely to fetch local weather data from Open-Meteo. Location coordinates are used in-session only and are never stored on your device or transmitted to our servers. Weather data is cached locally with a timestamp; location coordinates themselves are not cached. If you deny location permission, you can manually enter your city to look up weather.

What We Don't Collect

• No names, email addresses, or account information
• No stored location data or location history
• No health or medical data
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No cookies or advertising identifiers

Local Storage

The app stores your bike specs, route configurations, rider settings, range logs, and notification preferences locally on your device using Hive (local database). This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all stored data.

Weather Data

Weather forecasts are fetched from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a third-party weather API. Your latitude and longitude are sent to Open-Meteo in each request solely to retrieve weather. Open-Meteo's privacy policy is available at open-meteo.com. MileSpan does not associate weather requests with any personally identifiable information.

In-App Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings.

Push Notifications

The app uses local notifications only (scheduled on your device) for daily range alerts. No data is sent to any push notification server. You can enable or disable notifications in the app's settings or your device's notification settings.

Third-Party Services

• RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. RevenueCat may collect anonymous transaction data as described in their privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is shared.
• Open-Meteo: Weather data provider. Your coordinates are sent per-request to fetch weather. See Open-Meteo terms.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
