Overview

FadeGuard ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Data Collection

FadeGuard does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data you enter (pair profiles, care logs, settings) is stored locally on your device only.

What We Don't Collect

• No names, email addresses, or account information
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No cookies or advertising identifiers
• No health or medical data

Location Data

FadeGuard uses your device location solely to fetch local weather data (UV index, humidity, precipitation, temperature) from Open-Meteo. Location coordinates are passed directly to Open-Meteo's API and are not stored on our servers, logged, or transmitted to any other party. If you deny location permission, you may enter a ZIP code manually instead.

Weather Data

Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo.com under the CC BY 4.0 license. Open-Meteo's privacy policy governs data handled by their service.

Local Storage

The app stores your sneaker pair profiles, care log dates, notification settings, and user preferences locally on your device using Hive (local database). This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all stored data.

In-App Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings.

Push Notifications

The app uses local notifications only (scheduled on your device) for care reminders (silica replacement, coating reapplication, etc.). No data is sent to any push notification server. You can enable or disable notifications in the app's settings.

Third-Party Services

• RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. RevenueCat may collect anonymous transaction data as described in their privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is shared.
• Open-Meteo: Weather API used to fetch local UV, humidity, and precipitation data. See Open-Meteo terms.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
