Overview

Flytrap Care ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Data Collection

Flytrap Care does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data you enter (plant records, water logs, trap and pitcher logs, photo logs, care preferences, notification settings) is stored locally on your device only.

What We Don't Collect

• No names, email addresses, or account information
• No precise location coordinates stored on any server
• No health or medical data
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No cookies or advertising identifiers

Local Storage

The app stores your plant records, water logs, trap and pitcher logs, photo logs, and notification preferences locally on your device using Hive (local database). This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes all stored data.

Location Data

If you grant location permission, Flytrap Care uses your approximate coordinates to fetch local weather forecasts from Open-Meteo, a public weather API. Your coordinates are sent only to Open-Meteo's weather endpoint and are not stored on our servers. You can deny location permission and enter your latitude manually instead.

Photo Library

Pro users may optionally attach photos to plant logs. Photos are selected from your device's photo library and stored locally only. The app does not access your camera or upload photos to any server.

In-App Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings.

Push Notifications

The app uses local notifications only (scheduled on your device) for watering reminders, dormancy countdown, and repot reminders. No data is sent to any push notification server. You can enable or disable notifications in the app's settings.

Third-Party Services

• RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. RevenueCat may collect anonymous transaction data as described in their privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is shared.
• Open-Meteo: Used for weather forecast retrieval. Coordinates are sent to fetch forecast data only. See Open-Meteo terms.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
